This week was another crazy one! Last Monday, I flew home from Baton Rouge after a much needed weekend with some of my Semester at Sea friends and then got to have a night at home before driving back to school. This week at school was full of group projects (my favorite) and UK Athletics events. I’m an intern this semester with UK Athletics Marketing Department, and this week was so much fun. I was able to work the first round of the women’s soccer NCAA tournament, the women’s basketball game vs UL, and the women’s volleyball game vs Georgia. SO grateful for this experience! Now onto the normal…
Reading – I finished not a single book this week because I was so busy. That’s very weird for me to type because that hasn’t happened all year. I’m currently in the middle of a few books: Binding 13 by Chloe Walsh, Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands by Heather Fawcett, and the Light We Carry by Michelle Obama. All 3 are good books, I just seem to not have time and/or fall asleep 10 minutes into reading. Also I’ve been watching a lot of TV oops!
Eating – When I asked my doctor how I could feel better and less tired, she suggested cutting out soda. I was really drinking a lot of them and unintentionally spiking my blood sugar leading to being constantly tired. I’ve substituted for the Sparkling Ice drinks, specifically the Cherry Limeade flavor (tastes like a Shirley Temple). I just order a 12-pack on Amazon typically and they are perfect for that soda craving.
Playing – Shawn Mendes just released his newest album on Friday, and I have had it on repeat since. I’m also still loving Patterns by Kelsea Ballerini and Gracie Abrams’ bonus tracks. Finally, 2 Hands by Tate McRae has really been repeated a lot this week for me. SO many new songs and albums out right now and I’m loving it!
Obsessing – I have been LOVING the show How I Met Your Mother. I’m normally not a TV girl, but I’ve really loved having this on while doing work this past week. It’s funny with short episodes and I loved Alyson Hannigan during her season of Dancing with the Stars. Just a easy thing to turn on when you’re drowning in Excel sheets! Some honorable mentions include Brooklyn 99, like the Office but police, and Nobody Wants This, started with my sister and really loved!
Recommending – In Cincinnati, I got to go to the Gap Clearance Outlet. Everything that doesn’t sell in stores nearby for one reason or another is sent to this warehouse and put on crazy discount. Some stuff is torn or stained, but most is great quality for even better prices. Since Gap owns Athleta, Banana Republic, and Old Navy, all of their merchandise is sent here too, making this one of my favorite places to shop ever. My absolute favorite from the last time I went was the Athleta Salutation High Rise Jogger. I got them in Black for $19.99 and I wear them so much because they’re just so dang comfortable! If you don’t live near a Gap Clearance Center, these joggers are on sale on the Athleta website right now for $49. Definitely a good price!
Treating – I finally hit purchase on my Amazon cart this week. I found some old gift cards, so it was basically free! I got a new planner for next year (before the one I liked sold out), some new blue light glasses (being on a screen for work and school and fun really hurts the eyes), and a new wax stick for my slick backs. I tried to save money with my first one and I should have just spent the extra $3 because it smelled funny, didn’t work, and made my hair crazy greasy. Luckily, the new one came with some tools too!
Good week all around! Thanks for reading and check out my other recent articles…
